though we may be miles away from our own family and friends, in the local church we quickly discover a new family and new friends, because of the common salvation we have in Christ. The third great blessing that comes to us in our adoption is the gift of the Spirit of God, whom Paul calls “the Spirit of adoption” in Romans 8:15.
